Delta LTD

Delta LTD joins our LTD line, where I build the most incredible blends from the rarest materials known to this earth. This one started with a single material: a gorgeous purple kinamic oud. Everything else in the blend exists to show it off.

Purple kinam is unlike most ouds. It has a natural violet-tinged richness and a deep, smooth woodiness. I wanted to accentuate both sides of it, the purple and the wood, from the first spray to the last hour of the drydown.

To do that, I created a brand new custom purple accord just for this release. It sits in the heart of the blend and pulls the purple character of the oud forward, so the fragrance reads as purple from top to bottom rather than only in the base. Then I went after the woods. I combined a stack of them, led by cedar and nootka, to boost the natural purple woodiness of the kinam instead of competing with it. Cedarwood and nootka lend a dry, clean, woody quality, and together they act like a frame around the oud.

The opening is dark fruit and a touch of rose for diffusion. Raspberry and black currant bring a juicy, jammy purple sweetness, rose otto adds a floral edge, and bergamot and grapefruit keep things bright so that the sweetness has balance. It's a vivid, saturated start that sets the color for everything to come.

In the heart, the purple accord takes center stage, supported by Turkish rose, blue lotus, osmanthus, and jasmine sambac. The florals bloom around it, while black tea adds a dry, slightly tannic depth.

Then the base arrives, and the purple kinam finally gets its moment. Patchouli, vetiver, and muskroot give it earthy, grounded weight, tobacco adds a honeyed smokiness, and bakhoor brings a rich incense. A touch of choya nakh adds just enough smoke to give the whole drydown a shadowy edge. Cedarwood and nootka burst here to carry the woodiness all the way through, tying the base back to the purple oud.

Delta LTD is purple, woody, ever so slightly smoky, and ultra rare. It's a blend built around one extraordinary oud, with every ingredient chosen to make it shine. This will be limited to 10 bottles and will cost $1,195 per bottle.
