Prince v2 & v2.5

There was a lot that went into this v2 and many decisions that were made based off which direction I wanted to take this scent from the oud perspective. Since each 15ml has 2 grams of Oud, the region really plays a huge role in the whole scent profile.

For the v1 we used a sweet Malaysian oud that did a really great job at smoothing out the lavender and adding to the powdery effect to it. But since it was sweeter it tends to fall to the background a little more and is a little harder to pick up. I not only wanted the oud to be more clear but more bold as well!

For the v2 I finalized the decision based on 2 factors. A strong oud that provides a similar sweetness to the Malaysian oud but is way more strong and noticeable and overall a better oud. Secondly I wanted a dark oud to add a little twist from the original scent profile and add more depth to the blend.

So the decision was clear I needed to use 2 regions to hit both of those marks. First for the sweeter oud I used this Papuan Tigerwood Oud, which has some similarities to its Malaysian counterpart in terms of the sweetness but is also way more sharp and resinous which makes it more noticeable in the blend. For the Second Oud I chose to go with the Merauke region, which is known for its more dark, slightly smokey ouds, which is exactly what I wanted to add more depth. to Prince.

Top Notes:
Prince opens with a harmonious blend of Lavender Maillette, a variety of lavender celebrated for its sweet, floral, and slightly herbaceous aroma. This particular lavender sets the stage with its calming and distinctively clean profile. Complementing this is the vibrant zest of Japanese Yuzu, which adds a burst of citrus brightness, cutting through the tranquility with its sharp, tangy edge. Chlorodendron introduces a subtle, fruity berry freshness to the mix, while Chinese Geranium offers a crisp, rosy touch that enhances the floral spectrum. White Ambergris rounds out the top notes with its warm, marine sophistication, lending a refined complexity that heightens the initial olfactory encounter.

Heart Notes:
As the composition unfolds, Lavender Absolute, a more intense and concentrated form of lavender, anchors the heart, deepening the initial lavender theme with its rich, velvety essence. This heart is further adorned with Turkish Rose and Jasmine Sambac, each adding their own lush, intoxicating floral notes. Osmanthus introduces a soft, apricot-like sweetness, adding a layer of fruity, creamy texture to the bouquet. Neroli offers a slight bitter-citrus counterpoint that invigorates the senses, while Jade Wood injects a subtle, smooth woody note that bridges the transition to the base.

Base Notes:
The base of Prince is where the majesty of Oud takes center stage, with both Cambodi Oud and Malaysian Oud! These Oud varieties are known for their warm, woody, and resinous qualities. Patchouli deepens this complexity with its rich, musky-earthy aroma, complementing the woody notes perfectly. Red Meat Sandalwood provides a creamy, rich backdrop that enhances the overall smoothness of the base. Vanilla adds a touch of sweetness, cutting through the denseness with its inviting warmth, while Fir Needle and Cedarmoss introduce a resinous, forest-like freshness that completes the scent with a bright, clean finish.

Every bottle of Prince contains an exceptionally large quantity of Oud, making each spray a lavish indulgence. This abundance ensures that the Oud’s profound presence permeates throughout the fragrance, maintaining its luxurious, powerful essence from the first spritz to the final lingering note.
