Let's be honest: we all wanted Aventus to be the fragrance it promised to be. Fresh, smoky, fruity, powerful, a legend. Then we sprayed it and got a pleasant pineapple that waves goodbye in a few minutes. Grapefruit Drip is what Aventus should have been, and it's the newest edition to our Pure Parfum line.

For those new to the line, Pure Parfum means all natural ingredients, no oud, no animalics, and a seriously high concentration. Grapefruit Drip comes in at 54%. That's not a typo. It's more than double what you'll find in most fragrances, and you can smell the difference from the very first spray.

The star is the grapefruit, and it's not just any grapefruit. We used a special, very expensive grapefruit designed to last all day, from the top notes all the way down to the base. Grapefruit is famously fleeting, which is why most citrus fragrances vanish after an hour. This one doesn't. It's carried through the entire composition, so the juicy, sparkling grapefruit you smell at the start is still there at the end of the day.

The opening is a fruit stand collision. Grapefruit, lemon, and bergamot lead with bright zesty snap, while pineapple, apple, and black currant add juicy sweetness and a little tartness. Pink pepper adds a gentle nose tingle in the heart, jasmine and lavender give it a soft floral touch, just a touch, and jade wood begins the transition into the woods.

Then comes the part that makes this smell like a proper masculine fragrance. Cedar, blue cypress, and birch bring a dry, woody, smoky backbone, with a touch of smoke just a little drop of it. Oakmoss and patchouli give it that earthy, mossy depth, and a grapefruit heart in the base keeps the citrus strong right to the end.

The result is fresh, woody, and smoky, with a massive scent bubble and incredible sillage that fills a room and keeps going, lasting so, so long. People will ask what you're wearing. You can tell them it's better than the one they're thinking of.
