Lost Tribe Perfumes x LOVECREATESDEATH

Pina Colada the first-ever collaboration between Lost Tribe Perfumes and the extraordinarily talented perfumer and creative force behind LOVECREATESDEATH. Two houses, two distinct visions, one shared obsession with pushing natural perfumery into places it has never been. The moment Jude and I began talking, it was clear we were aligned on something special, a fragrance that would capture pure joy in a bottle, built around the most iconic tropical drink in the world.

The process was as much fun as the result. We went back and forth, which notes to include, which accords to build from scratch, how to replicate the pina colada experience while creating something genuinely wearable and elevated. What emerged from those conversations was a fragrance that neither of us could have made alone, and that is exactly what a great collaboration should feel like.

From the very first spray, Pina Colada announces its intentions. Mango, banana, and pineapple burst open with an almost edible tropical brightness that is immediately smile-inducing. Coconut and white ambergris wrap around the fruit with a creamy, salt water splash, while ylang ylang adds an exotic tropical floral edge that keeps the opening feeling lush rather than sweet. A touch of civet grounds the opening with just enough animalic warmth to draw you in.

As the fragrance settles into the heart, it becomes something truly transportive. Toasted coconut and massoia deepen the creaminess into something almost decadent. Frangipani and gardenia bloom with a heady tropical fruity floral softness, while golden osmanthus adds its characteristic peachy, apricot scent profile. Magnolia and elderflower bring a delicate honeyed note, and rose adds a bit of freshness. Jade wood provides a structural backbone that helps push the fragrance out and create sillage. Every note in the heart transports you to white sand, warm breeze, a glass in hand, not a care in the world!

The base is where Pina Colada earns its longevity and its depth. Natuna oud and Kalimantan oud both have a regional tropical scent profile to them so they were a perfect fit. Whiskey adds an unexpected boozy layer that compliments the creamy quality of the blend. Our house-made cream accord and powder accord bind everything together and finalize that pina colada signature. This is all supported by tonka bean, French vanilla, benzoin siam, and labdanum. Cinnamon and cedarwood round the base with gentle spice and structure so it doesn’t get cloying or too sweet.

Without fail, every single time I catch a waft of it on my skin, it puts a smile on my face. It performs beautifully in the warmth, projects a stunning scent bubble, and lasts for hours on end. It is pure happiness in wearable form.

This is just the beginning for Lost Tribe and LOVECREATESDEATH. But what a way to start!
