At first encounter, French vanilla emerges with a soothing, creamy sweetness, providing a welcoming introduction. This familiar comfort wraps around the senses like a soft, velvety cloak, setting a base of warmth and gentle allure. The vanilla’s rich, enveloping quality paves the way for more complex interactions, beckoning the deeper elements to unveil themselves.

As the fragrance warms on the skin, balsam of Peru enters the composition, intertwining its sweet resinous aroma with the vanilla. It echoes the deep forests and exotic landscapes of its origin, adding a layer of intrigue with its slightly spicy, cinnamon-like undertones. This ingredient enriches the fragrance, contributing to subtle yet captivating complexity.

Cinnamon then sparks through, a spice revered for its vibrant, fiery character. It pierces the softer backdrop with its invigorating warmth, bringing a dynamic contrast to the creamy and resinous notes. The cinnamon's spicy zest is potent yet balanced, igniting the blend and infusing the fragrance with an energetic pulse that stirs the soul.

As the initial vibrancy mellows, the heart of the fragrance reveals benzoin and tonka bean. Benzoin, with its sweet, almost vanilla-like scent tinged with almond facets, deepens the blend, adding a comforting, balsamic quality. Tonka bean follows closely, lending an aroma reminiscent of caramel, clove, and a touch of tobacco. This duo enhances the fragrance’s profile with an opulent sweetness, layered and profound.

Finally, the base notes of wild Malaysian oud and sweet Mongolian deer musk assert themselves, grounding the fragrance in an exotic, deep, and luxurious finish. The oud contributes its dark, rich, and woody aroma—a scent that is both mystical and commanding. Complementing this, the sweet Mongolian deer musk offers a complex, animalistic quality that is both intoxicating and primal. Its powerful musky note is profound, lingering long after the other scents have spoken their piece, leaving a lasting impression that is both mysterious and immensely satisfying.

Together, these elements create not just a scent but a sensory experience that transports the wearer and those around them. It’s a fragrance that evolves with time, each note dancing in harmony but also standing strong on its own, much like a symphony where every instrument plays a critical role. The result is a sophisticated, deeply aromatic fragrance that is both timeless and modern, perfect for those who seek to make a bold, unforgettable statement.

OUR ALL NATURAL

3 Step Process

A little insight into the creation of Vanilla Waves.

  • Step 1: Sights on Gourmand

Creating a gourmand is a very fragile process. Go too sweet and the fragrance will by cloying and cause headaches, don’t go sweet enough and it wont classify as a gourmand. I have been using this French vanilla in a lot of blends and decided it was time for its own release.

  • Step 2: Balance

Balancing the sweetest vanilla I have is not an easy process. I need something strong and spicy to balance the sweet and lift the overall fragrance adding to its diffusibility.

  • Step 3: Adding Nuance

Adding character to the Vanilla was the final step. Using just a touch of tonka added notes of caramel and the right touch of depth. Balsam of Peru brought in the final touch with its lighter more airy vanillic tones.

Our Ingredients

French Vanilla

French vanilla is often used to impart a warm, comforting, and inviting aroma. It blends well with a variety of other notes, including woody, spicy, and floral scents, adding depth and a creamy, velvety layer that enhances the overall fragrance profile.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon's fragrance is bold and penetrating, capable of adding depth and a hint of exotic spice to any scent blend. The aroma of cinnamon comes from the essential oils within the bark of Cinnamomum trees, particularly cinnamaldehyde, which gives it a rich and robust character.

Tonka Bean

Tonka bean has a captivating, rich scent that is sweet, warm, and somewhat reminiscent of vanilla, but with its own unique twists. It features deep notes of almond, cherry, and a touch of spicy cinnamon. The aroma is rounded out by undertones of caramel and cloves, adding complexity and an alluring sweetness.

Benzoin

Benzoin is a balsamic resin obtained from the bark of several species of trees in the genus Styrax. It has a rich, warm, and sweet aroma with complex vanilla-like undertones. The scent of benzoin is often described as creamy and slightly spicy, with hints of caramel and almond.

Our Quality Speaks For Itself

Fact 1

benzoin has also been traditionally used in medicinal practices, particularly in Southeast Asia. Its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties make it a popular ingredient in balms, salves, and tinctures intended to heal cuts, soothe skin irritations, and improve respiratory conditions.

Fact 2

Fun fact about Balsam of Peru is that despite its name, it is not actually from Peru. Balsam of Peru, also known as Myroxylon balsamum, comes from a resin obtained from the bark of a tree that is native to Central America, particularly in El Salvador. The name originated from the historical shipping of the resin through Peruvian ports in the 17th century as it made its way to Europe, which led to the name "Balsam of Peru."
